Campuestohan Highland Resort: A Fun Highland Escape in Negros Occidental, Philippines

Located in the highlands of Talisay City, Negros Occidental, just outside Bacolod, Campuestohan offers a refreshing escape from the tropical heat. Surrounded by greenery, mountains, and beautiful views, the resort feels like a completely different world once you make your way up from the city.

What makes Campuestohan unique is its fun, colorful, and slightly whimsical atmosphere. Everywhere you look, you'll find interesting attractions, creative structures, and Instagrammable photo spots. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend an entire day exploring—or even stay overnight, like we did!

🚐 How We Got to Campuestohan

For our trip to Campuestohan, we decided to take the resort's shuttle from Bacolod. Since we didn't have a car, this was a really convenient option for us.

Before our trip, we contacted Campuestohan through their Facebook page to ask about the shuttle schedule and pickup location. The pickup point was located beside KFC, which made it quite easy for us to find.

On the day of our trip, we simply went to the designated pickup point and hopped on the shuttle. As we made our way from Bacolod up into the highlands of Talisay, the busy city gradually disappeared behind us, replaced by greener surroundings and mountain scenery.

The shuttle ride made our journey easy and hassle-free, and we could simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the changing scenery along the way.

🏡 We Stayed in a Tippy Hut

Instead of just visiting for the day, we decided to stay overnight for one night in one of Campuestohan's Tippy Huts.

This made our experience even more special because we didn't have to rush through all the attractions in just a few hours. We had more time to explore the resort, take photos, enjoy the activities, and experience the peaceful highland atmosphere.

The Tippy Hut also added a fun and unique element to our stay. Waking up in the cool mountain surroundings was definitely different from staying in a typical hotel in the city.

🌊 Things to Do at Campuestohan

Once we arrived, we quickly realized that there was so much more to Campuestohan than we expected.

If you're visiting for the day, there are plenty of activities and attractions to enjoy.

You can cool off in the wave pool, explore the resort's different attractions, or try some of the adventure activities if you're looking for a little adrenaline. There are also areas where you can simply relax, enjoy the scenery, and spend quality time with family or friends.

One of the highlights for us was the Sky Walk, which gives you a different perspective of the resort and the surrounding highlands. If you're not afraid of heights, it's definitely an experience worth trying!

And, of course, bring your camera or phone because there are so many Instagrammable spots around the resort. From colorful structures and themed attractions to larger-than-life installations, you'll probably find yourself stopping every few minutes for another photo.

There are also attractions for kids and families, including the Dino Adventure Park, while those looking for more excitement can try activities such as the zipline and other adventure rides.

🐓 The World's Largest Chicken-Shaped Hotel

One of the most unique things about Campuestohan is its famous giant chicken-shaped building.

Known as Manok ni Cano Gwapo, the structure is more than just a photo attraction. It is a functioning hotel, and it has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest building shaped like a chicken.

And yes—you can actually stay in a chicken hotel room! 🐓😂

📸 More Than Just a Resort

What we enjoyed most about Campuestohan wasn't necessarily trying every activity. We also loved simply walking around, taking photos, enjoying the fresh mountain air, and spending time together.

There is something nice about being able to slow down and enjoy your surroundings without feeling like you have to rush from one attraction to another.

Whether you're looking for adventure, a family day out, a place to take beautiful photos, or simply a relaxing overnight escape, Campuestohan gives you plenty of options.

And because we stayed overnight, we were able to experience the resort at a more relaxed pace instead of trying to fit everything into one day.

❤️ Our Campuestohan Experience

For us, visiting Campuestohan was a fun opportunity to experience another beautiful side of Negros Occidental.

From taking the shuttle from Bacolod, staying overnight in a Tippy Hut, walking around the highlands, enjoying the wave pool and Sky Walk, taking lots of photos, and seeing the famous Guinness World Record chicken hotel—it was definitely a memorable part of our trip.
